Mauritius Joshinmon Shorin Ryu Karate Do

The Jo Shin Mon Shorin Ryu Karate Do organisation was founded by Grand Master Hoshu Ikeda in 1969. Joshin Mon means the “gateway to tranquility”. This tranquility is not only a subjective one but it is a universal tranquility that harmonises all living beings.

The philosophy and practice of Jo Shin Mon Shorin Ryu is an enrichment on the original Shorin Ryu Karate. Grand Master Ikeda has used his genius to master all the aspects of Tai, Ghi and Shin (Body, mind and spirit) relating to the practice of Shorin Ryu Karate and all esoteric side of karate in general.
